Aside from living interstate and overseas to complete all her study and qualifications, Tanya is one of those rare born and bred Canberrans!
Tanya completed her first Bachelor of Health Science from Griffith University, Gold Coast. Her second Bachelor of Health Science was in Chinese Medicine, completed at RMIT (Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology) in Victoria. This was a 5-year degree where the final seven months involved an internship in Nanjing, China. Tanya’s internship included specific focus on paediatrics, gynaecology, dermatology, pain management and massage.
Tanya has extensive experience as an Acupuncturist, having worked in private practice since 2004. Tanya uses Acupuncture to treat an array of presentations but has a special interest in Women’s Health conditions such as menstrual irregularities, endometriosis, PCOS, fertility and menopause. Tanya also is experienced in Pain Management, particularly presentations such as arthritis, sporting injuries, headaches and migraines.
Tanya has recently become more interested in Acupuncture for stress and anxiety management, exploring this in conjunction with simple breathing exercises. Tanya regards the treatment she provides to her clients as more complementary rather than alternative, especially when treating fertility and sporting-related issues.
Tanya’s other unofficial job is ‘ballroom dance mum!’ In her spare time, you’ll find Tanya hanging with her family, often running her three kids around to numerous weekly dance classes and ballroom competitions!
You may run into Tanya in one of our many weekly yoga classes. Her goal following several years of covid and managing remote school learning is to make a little more time for herself and work on rebuilding her general flexibility!
